Hello there, welcome to the Riverside Woodshop. We are a small two person woodshop. The owners are mother and son - Brad and Ellouise Shirley. We are more than happy to have you as a part of us. We are the best at what we do here. We make custom woodwork pieces and unique designs in woodcrafts. We hope you will like and recommend our products to your family and friends. Our shop is run as a family business and we enjoy every bit of designing and crafting our products. These products are crafted by talented individuals who enjoy their craft. We hope our products will touch your heart and put a smile on your face every time you see or touch them.
How we founded this business
Ellouise retired about four years ago and relocated to Ohio to live with me (Brad). When she moved, we saw a cool map piece made from pallet wood on Pinterest and thought it would look nice for her new room. Well, to make a long story short, about two years later, I made it for her. Once it was done, we loved the way it turned out but it did not go well with the style she ended up with in her room, so I put it on Facebook for sale. Surprisingly, it sold in less than 2 minutes and I had orders to make 4 more of them! Since then, we have never looked back. We now rent a small 800 square foot workshop and storefront on Main Street in Wellsville, Ohio where we take custom orders for larger local projects as well as produce a full line of unique wood cutting boards, drink coasters, bottle openers, trivets, wall signs, and wedding envelope boxes, etc. for the internet and for the people within our local store.
Here are some fun facts about us
- Brad spent 20 years in the casino industry and loves making gaming furniture for clients- one stipulation though, is that the finished table must pass quality control, which entails a hosted game night in the shop with the new piece in use. We never miss having a family game whenever we get these orders.
- My dog Ace, is found most days lying on the shop couch to greet our walk-in guests with kisses. It always leaves our customers with a happy face. If you happen to be from around town, we can’t wait to meet you.
What we hope to achieve
As a business, we hope to expand our reach beyond our location to new horizons. We want to increase our reach nationwide while maintaining a high reputation. As of now, our core products of custom inlay cutting boards, coaster and trivets are what we are hoping to focus on via the internet due to distribution, space and cost factors.
We, as a business, are Members of SBA New Business Program. We are fully certified to do what we do.As a customer, you can order a unique piece from the many products we have in our store or you can custom order wood artwork of your liking through our website or through our Facebook page by simply sending us a description of what you would like us to create for you. We are more than happy to interact with you and get to know what you like about our products or what you would like us to improve on. We are a family business and we value our customers as much as we value our artwork.
